In a cricket frenzy nation, Indian Super League (ISL) allured the football fans of the nation and kick-started its second season on October 3, 2015 which wrapped up earlier this week. Throughout the league, Facebook firmly stood as a prime platform for millions of fans to discover ISL related content, live updates, connect with players, teams and news outlets, and discuss matches with friends.
Between September 30, 2015 to December 20, 2015 around 12 million people had over 38 million interactions on the social media giant.
The ISL campaign commenced earlier in July 2015 on Facebook with the first ever player auction for the league. The live auction TV broadcast was complemented with exclusive behind-the-scenes content from the auction.
