Leave it up to Burger King and Conor McGregor to turn ‘trash talk’ from one of Conor’s adversaries into a commercial for the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich with the multimillionaire fighter.
Yes you heard that right. The mascot for Burger King and Conor McGregor team up for the newest commercial from the fast food company, transforming the trash talk guys’ insults into college fund for Conor Jr!
All right let me elaborate it for you.
One of Conor McGregor’s UFC rivals recently " target="_blank" rel="noopener">referred to him as a ‘chicken’ for not squaring up with him and offering him a chance to win the ‘lightweight UFC belt’. This particular instance is the foundation of this Burger King commercial.
Conor walks up to the camera inside a chartered airplane, referencing ‘All this chicken and king talk swirling around out there. It’s got me really fired up.” Yes, that, right there was the plug-in for the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich. Effortless.
The camera then cuts to the Burger King mascot stepping outside a vehicle, boarding the chartered airplane to deliver the Spicy Crispy Chicken Sandwich - from one king to another.
He proceeds to take a bite out of the burger, announcing to the camera that it’s delicious, as is the standard burger commercial format but mixes it up a little with a UFC pun. Towards the end of the video, Conor looks into the camera and thanks the ‘trash talk guys’ for just putting Conor Jr. through college. An obvious reference to the big bucks he must have been paid for this 52-second spot.
