Pinterest acquires Vochi to bring more video creation tools for creators

The acquisition of Vochi by Pinterest is intended to democratizing tools for creators and enable more video content for consumption and let users watch, make and shop creator ideas. The financial agreements of the deal were not disclosed.

Vochi is a creative video editing app with an AI-based intuitive video editor, that lets creators choose a sequence and add visual or motion effects that create engaging videos, and the acquisition of this app by Pinterest has been developed to bring these unique capabilities to the platform.

The standalone app would continue to be available and the Pinterest team also plans to develop more creative tools with the minds at Vochi. "Our ambition is to provide creators with a powerful tool that helps them make outstanding videos much faster, saving them time and energy for more creation and inspiration", said Anna Bulgakova, CPO & Co-Founder, Vochi.

Pinterest has vamped up efforts for the creation and consumption of video content, in the past year, the platform recently also announced the launch of Pinterest TV, a series of live and shoppable episodes featuring creators with new episodes each weekday and recorded and available for Pinners to view on-demand.
