Twitter podcasts

As a part of the development of voice-based features on the platform and the redesigned Spaces tab, Twitter has integrated podcasts into the Spaces tab.

Voice-based content and audio conversations have been on an upsurge on Twitter since the launch of Spaces, and now along with the ability to record the interactions on Spaces, now users will also be able to listen to, and post podcasts.

Twitter mentions that this integration is part of the investment in audio creators. The redesigned Spaces Tab introduces personalized hubs that categorize audio content together by specific themes like News, Music, Sports, and more. Listeners will be able to access a personalized selection of live and recorded Spaces discussing the topics that are relevant to them.

Along with personalized recommendations, the hubs would also feature popular and engaging podcasts from globally varied regions. Twitter would automatically suggest podcasts to users enabling them to discover and listen to the topics they want to hear more about. For example, if someone regularly interacts with Vox content on Twitter, they’ll probably see a Vox podcast in a Spaces hub.

Ray Chao, General Manager - Audio, Vox Media, states "Vox Media has a rich array of popular podcasts across many categories, and we’re thrilled that Twitter is expanding its audio capabilities to help more listeners discover them".

The redesigned Spaces Tab, including the addition of podcasts, will be available to a select section of global English-speaking audiences on iOS and Android. The platform is also looking to garner feedback from the initial set of users.
