Priyanka Chopra Wedding

Priyanka Chopra & Nick Jonas’ grand wedding at Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jodhpur set the sky glowing with firecrackers that leave metal particles, dangerous toxins, harmful chemicals and smoke in the air.

Ever since the Nickyanka wedding was announced, her fans were eagerly waiting to see their favourite actress Priyanka Chopra as a bride. While the fans across the world were waiting for the couple pictures and all the fun that was anticipated, the only pictures that came out yesterday were of the fireworks at Umaid Bhawan Palace to celebrate the wedding.

Priyanka Chopra not so long ago was part of a Diwali campaign by Cipla, urging people to not burst firecrackers, as it’s adverse effects like noise & air pollution impact the environment brutally at the cost of it’s visual treat.

Besides the Breathefree campaign and apart from being a global personality she has supported a lot of social causes in association with UNICEF and other organizations. From time to time, she has been a part of campaigns like Facebook’s SocialForGood & YouTube’s Girl Child Campaign

She is as admirable as one could be for using a voice she has, to target such social issues but the recent scenario at her wedding ceremony stinks of hypocrisy. Nick Jonas too, has supported various charitable causes over the years. So two personalities, who people look upto and are influenced by, let them down.

As people are more interested in celebrity gossip and various celebrities newly getting married has “kept them on their toes”, the controversy has gained a lot of traction even though Diwali 2018 had seen a lot of crackers getting lit.

The general population too lit crackers in a massive amount this Diwali.

Doing the act, that she stood against has invited a lot of backlash expressed through social media.

In the wake of climate deteriorating to the point of irreversible change, the incident should be a lesson to learn; no matter how happy the occasion do not celebrate by harming the environment.
