Rinkal Soni, a creator of makeup tutorials & lifestyle videos such as how to make the perfect ponytail or do an Aloe Vera facial, hygiene hacks, in a conversation with Social Samosa reveals the grind behind the blinds.

Creating content about common problems that surround people and providing solutions is the creation process Rinkal follows. Read on to know more about what goes behind a blog that has over a million YouTube subscribers.

Looking back, where did it all begin?

It all began while I was between jobs and searching for something meaningful to do. Something that would help me identify myself in the swarm of people. I've always wanted to be exactly where I am today, and want to keep getting better at what I do as I grow.

What's in the name?

At the start, it was nothing special in the name, just another girl wanting to share some meaningful content, but today it is placed to get reliable content. And I want to continue that.

What is your USP in this cluttered space?  How does your content give you an edge?

I would say that the content I create is meaningful and relatable content which connects with the audience on more than just a video level. Anyone who knows the Hindi language would be able to connect and establish a trust with the channel.

Please take us through your content creation process. How do you stay relevant and relatable?

I've researched a numerous number of networking sites, media portals, and blogs, to find articles that have helped me filter out the common problems that people face in their day to day lives. Most of them are due to unawareness towards certain aspects. I just create content, around the idea of conveying the message to these people, creating awareness about these aspects and provide a solution in a way that is easy, affordable and will have effective results at the end.

How do you take moolah with your efforts?

At first, it is actually about sharing meaningful videos and content that will help viewers to get rid of the problems they're facing or maintain what they have now. The idea is what keeps me going and create new content every day. Money is good but it also works as a motivational way to achieve better results in the content. For me the idea is noble.

How do you maintain editorial objectivity with the influx of brand briefs?

Firstly, I search for the brand reputation and ingredients of the products. Then I go on to find out the exact usage of that ingredient and if all set fine, I look at the demands of the company and try to make a script based on what and how it would benefit my viewers. If the brand and my views do not match then I just say no to it. I keep the content genuine that is what gives it the edge.

One instance/experience that made it nll worthwhile

There is No one instance but the entire journey has made me what I am today. It was never one video but all of the back to back series of videos that people loved and made the channel reach where it is today. I pray that this continues in the long run as well.

Weirdest brand brief/request ever

One company wanted to promote Undergarments on my channel and said to promote them wearing and showing them, but I was not comfortable doing so, and I would never like to do that. But it is not weird just a thing I don’t personally like to do.

If not blogging, you would be?

Well, if I were not a Youtuber, then I seriously don’t know what I would be. This is what has defined me in life.

A day in your life....

Mostly it involves a lot of scripting, video making, editing and it is totally different and sometimes messed up then what final video looks like. To provide good content every time involves a process of thinking on what should be next?! This is also exciting and it is what keeps me going entire day.

Message/tips for upcoming bloggers

I am not the right person for the Tips or Message, but if anyone is out there just two things, DON’T GIVE UP and BE REGULAR.
