India celebrates it's 73rd Independence Day this August and as the country preps to solemnize the day, Social Samosa does a #throwback to a few Independence Day campaigns that indulged in creativity.
Saffron, green and white splashes all over the digital space; from celebrating contemporary icons to conveying social messages, brands adopt all types of activities to scream patriotism with Independence Day Campaigns.
For instance, #TimelessStories by OLX is one such campaign that touches chords, plugs in the product well, and makes you emotional by using the plight of partition.
Truebil adopted quite an unconventional method in its I-Day campaign. Through an amalgamation of everyday sounds, like rickshaws pullers, buses, vendors or police officers, Truebil recreated the national anthem as a tribute to the unsung heroes on the street. It served two purposes: First, it threw light on the reminiscence of people from everyday life and second the different sounds brought together formed a harmonious melody thus implying the diversity/unity aspect of our country.
Gadre had a unique way of acknowledging a crunching issue. Through the short film, it tried inculcating that how tech age today have chained us to the phones and we are not really independent unless the shackles break loose.
The contrast between OLX #TimelessStories and the Arre-Telli campaign explains the idea that how the tensions between the two countries are addressed over the years. While OLX is right on the face, Arre uses a prolific way to the concern. Through its short digital film, it brings about the idea of breaking boundaries.
