#TopicalSpot: Brands fill us with #Pride with their #Section377 posts

Brands celebrate the one-year anniversary of decriminalization of Section 377, with creative posts, painting the socioverse VIBGYOR.

Social media users remarking the occasion that unshackled love from its chains created a topical wave flooded with supportive messages, wishes and numerous expressions of love.

Surfing on this wave, showing their support and rejoicing this moment of solidarity are few brands with their creative posts.

To mark this joyous occasion, Grazia India put together a pride-themed feature with allies of the LGBTQIA+ community such as Bani J, Elton Fernandez and more, in custom-made tees by designers who gave their interpretation of pride.

Other brands like Raw Pressery, American Tourister India, Volvo Cars India, TORANI, Mother Dairy Ice Creams and more have come out in support with humble creatives.

Commenting on the subject, Shormistha Mukherjee, Co-Founder & Director, Flying Cursor Interactive mentions, "It's important when brands create memorable and genuine conversations around topics that we don't usually or traditionally discuss, they create a safe space for people to take the conversation further, which is the only way to bring about change."

In a historic judgement for India, the Supreme Court (SC) on September 6th 2018, ruled that consensual adult sex is not a crime saying sexual orientation is natural and people have no control over it. — The judgement by a Constitution bench of the country’s top court, had defanged the British-era Section 377 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), which deemed that gay sex is a punishable offence. — The judgement herald a new dawn for personal liberty and has been a major victory for the LGBTQ community that has been fighting this battle to legalize gay sex in India.
