New Update
Mumbai Food Trail

In Mumbai Food Trail, the couple found a common passion for relishing delicacies and sharing their experiences with others.

While one loves to pose, the other loves to capture. Parimita and Sameer play their parts in the content creation for Mumbai Food Trail. The joy of clicking a perfect image helps them complete the experience of consuming drool-worthy food. In conversation with Social Samosa, they tell us more.

Looking back, where did it all begin?

In the year 2012 when we, Parimita & Sameer, just started to know each other. We found that our common passion lay in relishing good food for which distance knew no bound. All that could make us both happy was exploring good food at different places regardless of the cuisine (so far as it is vegetarian). While this common passion bonded us with marriage we thought of committing to our fervour by sharing our experiences with fellow enthusiasts and Social Media was the best way to go about it. Hence we started our food blog, Mumbai Food Trail.

What's in the name?

We always thought the name had to have a local connection to our city and at the same time be very generic and easy to capture, hence Mumbai Food Trail.

What is your USP in this cluttered space? How does your content give you an edge?

Original content creation and a unique style that is typical to our blog are what differentiates us from the lot. Also, we are not professional bloggers we are passionate bloggers and do it purely for the love of food & travel.

Please take us through your content creation process. How do you stay relevant and relatable?

While you passionately work towards something, you expose yourself to new learnings. One tends to find hidden interests and talents. For us, it is the zeal that a perfect click gives us. While Parimita loves to pose in the frame, Sameer loves to capture the most delicious clicks from behind the camera. Our satisfaction to eat the food is incomplete without capturing a drool-worthy click and sharing it with our followers.

How do you make moolah with your efforts?

We strongly believe that money should only be a byproduct of following your passion and not the other way round. We pay little attention to business development and more keenly concentrate on our content. The moolah comes in at its own will through brand associations.

How do you maintain editorial objectivity with the influx of brand briefs?

The blog integrates our personal value system as a core, which abstains us from promoting any kind of alcohol or non-vegetarian food. Since the blog is not our bread and butter, we are very picky about whom we work with and if they fall in sync with our value system and integrate with our lifestyles. We like to call a spade, a spade.

One instance/experience that made it all worthwhile

For us life isn’t about one big experience, it is a collage of many small experiences that brighten up the story. There have been so many experiences from romantic candlelight dinners in Barcelona & Paris to staycations as close as Lonavala during monsoon. Everything, just everything makes it worthwhile.

Weirdest brand brief/request ever

A prominent QSR selling chicken asked us for collaboration and upon notifying them that we are a vegetarian blog, they responded saying, "You don’t have to eat it."

If not blogging, you would be?

If not blogging, we would be thinner. We have our day jobs as Entrepreneurs and yes we love what we do.

A day in your life...

A typical day is in this sequence Breakfast, Lunch, Evening Snacks, Dinner and Desserts! Haha. On a serious note, while Sameer goes to the office to take care of his furniture business. Parimita works out of home on her equity portfolio and takes care of Ved our little munchkin.

Message/tips for upcoming bloggers

There are only two things to remember. Number one: Consistency. Number two: Learning & Improvement.

Your Favorite Influencer

We are our favourites. Just kidding! We like the work of so many bloggers and photographers some of who we might as well not know in person. To name a few, Vinayak Grover, Shivesh Bhatia, Saloni Kukreja, Swayampurna Mishra and many more.

The Future you foresee for your Personal Brand

We have had a baby boy, Ved, last year and we look to create some content with him on our blog now. Very shortly our Insta fam will see him featured in our content and that is one domain we plan to expand into.
