Testing: New features for Instagram Live

Instagram Live is now more alive than ever. The platform is testing and releasing more features to support the spike in its usage.

Recently, Instagram Live was brought on the app's Desktop UI and now the platform has confirmed to Social Samosa that they are testing an option for users to save Live videos on IGTV, so they can be viewed even after 24 hours.

Previously, Live videos could be viewed on Stories for a day or could be added to Highlights to be replayed. With the new option, users would be able to feature Live videos on their Profile permanently.

The feature is enabling, brands, creators, and eminent personalities to stay connected and engaged with their community in real-time and is steadily also amplifying virtual events.

Live views increased by over 70% in the U.S in the past month. Instagram has been making the feature more accessible and more flexible.

Reportedly Instagram, is also working on an option called 'Simulcast to Facebook'. The option would let users broadcast their Live videos on Facebook & Instagram simultaneously, increasing the reach of any communication.

Furthermore, Instagram has also been working features that would let artists & creators monetize their live videos by giving viewers the option to buy virtual gifts, merchandise, VIP passes, and more.

Adam Mosseri, CEO of Instagram has confirmed that there are more of such features on the way.
