Brand campaigns, posts, live sessions and contests marked the commemoration of International Yoga Day on social media this year.
To celebrate the health benefits and importance of Yoga, International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on June 21. It originated from Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s United Nations General Assembly address in 2014. Over the last several years, the day has evolved into one where government authorities, celebrities as well as bigger brands partake to support. In 2020 too, several brand posts and campaigns were run to celebrate Yoga Day.
The social media activity of brands was aimed at invoking several emotions. While some like Duroflex, Sab TV, Nutralite and Animal Planet took the humour route as a means to keep people entertained against the gloom of the pandemic, others went a step further to engage with users.
STEMROBO Technologies invited kids to participate in a coding challenge to create assets around the importance of Yoga. Nerolac Paints encouraged young ones to practice Yoga with their fathers and share pictures documenting the same. Brands like Candor Techspace and Fitbit India came up with virtual live sessions for their audiences.
