Diwali calls for lights, diyas, sweets, families coming together, and good food. The festival also calls for brands to launch a campaign that represents them and helps them stand out. Throughout the years, brands have come up with creatives and campaigns with different offers and showcasing different emotions. Here we take a look at some of the most memorable and favourite Diwali campaigns over the years.

Cadbury

'This is not just a Cadbury ad' campaign was launched to boost the sales of local stores that took a hit during the pandemic. The campaign used technology and AI to create a hyper-personalized ad wherein stores were featured against the product category for specific pin codes in Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, Indore, Ahmedabad, and Lucknow. 

Bajaj Allianz

Bajaj made a social statement with their satirical campaign Unboxing with Chintu taking a jibe at people who practice and encourage child labour. It highlighted the use of child labour in fireworks factories.

Vivo

Released in 2018, the campaign #Photoofyourlife depicted the journey of a father-daughter from despair to happiness. Have you ever come across a photo that floods you with several emotions every time you look at it? One such photo became a Diwali miracle in the life of this father and daughter.

Hitachi

Diwali is usually the time when families clean their houses thoroughly. In 2018, Hitachi launched a campaign to remind the audience that e-waste can be extremely hazardous to the environment and should be disposed of as well.

HP

HP's heart-warming campaign was created by Autumn Worldwide in 2018. The campaign showcased the efforts of the local artisans who make diyas and how a small act of empathy can have a positive impact on someone else’s life.

Sabhyata

Launched on the occasion of Diwali in 2019, ethnic wear brand Sabhyata weaved a story of redefining the relationship between a daughter-in-law and her mother-in-law. Featuring Jatin Sarna a.k.a Bunty, Sheeba Chaddha, and Anupriya Goenka, the campaign focussed on demystifying the stereotyped relationships.

Coca Cola

Titled 'Share a Coke this Diwali!' the campaign was created on the core message of connecting cultures, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana and Anupriya Goenka in the lead roles. The actor played the role of a tenant away from his home on Diwali.

Swiggy

Swiggy's ad campaign from 2018 reminded consumers to celebrate Diwali with everyone. A little boy, who is the protagonist of the film, goes door to door to share Diwali sweets and shares one with Swiggy's delivery partner, too.

Amazon

Amazon's #DeliverTheLove film celebrated COVID warriors. The campaign was designed by the in-house team and starred Sheeba Chaddha, reminding consumers to thank those who saved our lives during the pandemic.

Samsonite

Samosonite's #DiwaliKaSafar reminded people to be thankful for those who cannot take an off on Diwali. From flight attendants to cab drivers, the brand featured people that make Diwali extra special.

Mankind Pharma

Mankind Pharma's #SpreadingTheKindness campaign encouraged consumers to find kindness within and narrated the story of a business owner who has been spreading joy but encountered serious challenges during the pandemic, only to find kindness in strangers.
