PUMA goes all out to celebrate Virat Kohli’s birthday
Using 5000 red cricket balls to build a 20-foot by 20-foot mural, PUMA India celebrated Virat Kohli’s birthday in an innovative manner.
In an exciting turn of events, PUMA India celebrated Virat Kohli’s birthday in an innovative manner. On Saturday, the brand, by using 5000 red cricket balls built a 20-foot by 20-foot mural of the legendary Indian cricketer at Mumbai’s Carter Road, Amphitheater, drawing thousands of his supporters.
The enthusiastic supporters worked nonstop for nine hours, starting at 8:00 am, to render the 20-by-20-foot mural of Kohli’s face with artist Gurseet Singh.
Taking consumer engagement a notch higher, the brand sponsored a #KohliCrew homage competition. The winner would have the opportunity to meet the man himself. PUMA received an overwhelming number of wishes, driving the excitement for the legendary cricketer’s 34th birthday celebration.

The special event saw the who’s of who of the sports world in attendance. Rajkumar Sharma, Virat Kohli’s childhood coach, was present, adding a personal touch to the joyous occasion. Bhagwani Devi, a 94-year-old inspiring sprinter, footballers Glan Martins and Anwar Ali, cricketer Anuj Rawat, and swimmer Srihari were among the other notable athletes that attended the event. The day-long celebration included the participation of a huge Kohli fan and celebrated Bollywood actor Ishaan Khatter.
Extending the celebration to their outlets, PUMA activated several of its top stores across the country with Virat Kohli-themed engagements, allowing fans to exhibit their love and admiration. As part of Virat Kohli’s birthday celebration week, prominent tattoo artists, hair stylists, and face painters treated fans to Kohli-inspired tattoos, haircuts with VK initials, face painting, and more at several PUMA locations till November 12.
