After seven years with Happy Mcgarreybowen, Ameya Lokhande moves on; announces the move on LinkedIn.
Earlier this year, Ameya Lokhande, the then Vice President, Happy Macgarrybowen was announced to be a part of Social Samosa’s #SS40Under40 under the Account Management category. Today, he took to LinkedIn to announce that he is moving on from the agency after completing his 7-year stint there.
“I have made some amazing friends and had a hell of a lot of fun here. I would like to thank each and every individual who came into my life via Happy,” he wrote in his note on LinkedIn, adding, “I leave with a heavy heart today, but I also leave extremely proud of being a part of an amazing historic journey of Happy in Indian advertising,”
Lokhande has worked with various brands like Flipkart, Ola, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Fastrack, Parachute and ICICI. When asked how he would explain his job to a 5-year-old, he says, “How do you know that a new Batman movie is coming out? You see some ads about it on TV, right? We make those kinds of ads!”

He feels that it is important to sometimes take calls basis your gut feeling. “If you instinctively feel something is good, just go with it. Not everything can be backed by data,” says Lokhande. On a lighter note, recalling the weirdest brief he has received, he says: A client once called and said, “Diwali pe kuch kar de yaar!”
