#TagIcons Brands use Instagram to reflect human behavior in this new trend

New Instagram Trend

A new Instagram trend came to life yesterday, bringing in a new flurry in the world of brands and they got tagging with #TagIcons.

Within a few hours of Swiggy India posting a pair of images to depict how colleagues behave during lunch hours, brands followed suit to create their versions of the new Instagram trend: #TagIcons.

The trend includes images with small icons on it that come together or go away as per the situation scribbled across the creatives. As the trend grew in prominence, several brands took it up and created their own versions. Some even changed the design of the icon in question.

While the original creative trend began with the icon Instagram uses to denote tagged persons, brands went forth to build meanings with whatever icon were relevant to their product or serviceโ€” these included various kinds of emoticons as well as graphics that denote issues, which are eventually resolved.
