Ashok Lalla to leave Infosys and turn Digital Advisor to brands

After 3 years as Global Head – Digital Marketing for the $8 billion Infosys, Ashok Lalla has decided to move on from the Company.

Starting June, Ashok will don a new hat as digital advisor to brands and agencies.

On his move, Ashok said. “Smart brands are increasingly recognizing the futility of treating digital as a silo and struggle to seamlessly integrate digital into their marketing and consumer outreach. In my new role, I will advise brands on how to orchestrate the use of digital effectively to deliver greater business impact, and will work with the brands’ leaders and their partners. I am fortunate that already an exciting mix of established and startup brands across sectors have reposed their faith in me. I look forward to bringing the future of digital into play for these brands, today.”

Ashok has been one of the pioneers of digital marketing in the country, having spent the past 16 years helping brands perfect their tango with digital, and has extensive experience both as a client and an agency leader.

Ashok has the rare distinction of having led global digital marketing for two Indian-born global brands: Taj Hotels where he set up and led digital marketing and e-commerce for 9 years starting 2000, and then for Infosys since 2012.

Starting his career with Enterprise Advertising back in 1993, Ashok has also led the digital business for India and South Asia for Havas (then Euro RSCG) and Mindshare where he worked on leading brands from Unilever, IBM, Pepsi, Lenovo, Ford, Nike, Amex, and the Aditya Birla Group.
