At the 17th edition of Effie Awards ceremony, which took place at Taj Lands End in Mumbai on January 5, McCann Worldgroup India was declared as the Agency of the Year, while One97 Communications (Paytm) was declared as the Effie Client of the Year.
While the winners’ list is out in the open we tried to dig out campaign visuals which led to the moment of glory for some of the leading Agencies and Brands in India. Here’s a summary of Effie Awards 2018 Winning Campaigns across categories
Ogilvy & Mather bagged the Grand Effie for the evening. It was for the campaign ‘Nayi Soch’ for Star Plus India.
For the category, Consumer Products (Cosmetics, Toiletries & Personal Hygiene), McCann Worldgroup India bagged a Gold for brand HARPIC and their campaign – Toilet- Ek Shame Katha.
In the Consumer Products- (Confectionary & Food )category, Ogilvy & Mather got two Golds.
One was for the campaign ‘Dominic loves Pizza Hut’ for brand Pizza Hut and the other one was ‘Chupa Chups- Take fun seriously’ for brand Chupa Chups.
In the Consumer Products -(Others) category, HUL bagged one Gold for brand Surf Excel and their campaign ‘Neki Ek Ibadat’
In the Services- (Financial Services) category, McCann Worldgroup India got a Gold for their campaign ‘Helping India Conquer Note Bandi’ for the client Paytm.
In the Services- (Others) category, Ogilvy & Mather got a Gold for their campaign ‘(Jaane Kya Dikh Jaye’ ) You haven’t seen it all for the client Department of Tourism, Government of Rajasthan.
In the Corporate Advertising- (Reputation) category, McCann Worldgroup India got a Gold for working on Paytm’s campaign ‘India’s Biggest Cash Course in Financial Literacy’.
In the Healthcare category, there were two gold winners. McCann Worldgroup India bagged one Gold for Narayana Health’s ‘Opening the door for breast self-examination’ in rural India’ . Medulla Communications also bagged a Gold for Indian Association of Palliative Care’s ‘Last Laugh’ campaign.
In the Small-Town & Rural marketing category, J. Walter Thompson got a Gold for brand Unicef’s campaign ‘ Every Half Counts’.
In the Experiential Marketing/Brand Experience category, McCann Worldgroup India got a Gold for brand PayTM and their campaign ‘A sticker that brought hope’.
In the Integrated Advertising campaign category, Ogilvy & Mather Group India, Contributing Agency 1- Whats Your Problem Brand Solutions bagged a Gold for Amazon India ‘s ‘Inspiring India’s New Dreamers’.
HUL bagged a Gold for Surf Excel’s ‘Giving The Fight Against Dirt a Karmic Perspective’ in the Best Ongoing campaign category.
