Twitter launches Birdwatch notifications to convey the impact of user contribution

With the launch of notifications for Twitter Birdwatch, the users who are a part of the program will be notified about how their ratings on Tweets potentially containing misinformation were impacted.

Twitter Birdwatch program enables a group of users to provide context on Tweets that may contain misleading information, through ratings, context, and notes on tweets that they think contain misleading content and information. The launch of Birdwatch notifications will let the contributing user know when their ratings have helped elevate a note to “Currently rated helpful.”

The update to the feature has been created to let users know about the impact of their contributions. The users will be updated regarding their ratings that may have proved to be helpful. 

Twitter has been working on the Birdwatch feature in an attempt to control the spread of misinformation. This feature passed on the baton to control misinformation to its user. Ratings of a particular Tweet are essential for the users consuming the content on the platform. Now, with the release of Birdwatch notifications users will be updated about how well their ratings have worked in controlling the spread of misinformation.
