The redesign on the in-app play tab of Facebook would now make it easier for users to find and play games, whether they are cloud-streamed or HTML5. The revamped tab has also improved filtering and category sorting options with ranking categories and recommendations from the Facebook Gaming team.

Cloud Playable Games

The availability of cloud playable games has now covered 98% of the users in the mainland US and would hit 100% by the fall putting them on track for roll out in Canada and Mexico, reaching Western and Central Europe by early 2022, and further rollout.

For the unacquainted, cloud playable games are mobile games on Facebook, that are playable instantly, with no installs. Facebook is building up a library of a free-to-play mobile catalogue of games, in an attempt to deliver cross-device cloud-streaming and instant access to games.

Facebook has also partnered with Ubisoft and launched Assassin’s Creed Rebellion by Ubisoft, a cloud-streamed game on Facebook Gaming, a mobile entry in the long-running series that blends elements of RPG, strategy, and action games.

The library now holds 25 cloud-streamed games on the platform, with recent additions that include Roller Coaster Tycoon Touch by Atari, Lego Legacy Heroes Unboxed, and Dragon Mania Legends by Gameloft, and State of Survival by FunPlus.
