DigitalOcean appoints Gabe Monroy as Chief Product Officer

Gabe Monroy will oversee the product management organization of DigitalOcean and own the company’s product vision that aims to drive growth and innovation and enhance the customer experience.

Prior to DigitalOcean, Gabe Monroy was Vice President of the Azure Developer Experience group in Microsoft’s Developer Division. In this role, he was responsible for the application-centric services and tools on Azure, including computing services, platform services, and developer tools.

Previously, Monroy was the founder and chief technology officer (CTO) of Deis, which was acquired by Microsoft in 2017. After joining Microsoft, Monroy started Azure Kubernetes Service. As an early contributor to Docker and Kubernetes, and a founding member of the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), Monroy has deep experience in open source software and cloud-native technology.
