Threads' web version to get more updates

Meta will be launching an updated Threads' web version, which will be equipped with features to post and interact with other posts. Until now, users were only able to view someone’s profile.

In a recent announcement, Meta is all set to launch a fully operational and capable web version of their Threads app. With this update, users will be able to post, interact with other posts, and look at their feeds. It is set to be rolling out in the coming few days.

Up to this point, users were limited to only being able to look at somebody’s profile. There was no provision for being able to like or reshare a post. Threads has come up with a newer web version to tackle those issues.

Since its inception, there has been a substantial demand from users for web support apart from the reverse chronological Following feed, which was delivered by Meta in July.

The inability to capture desktop users had been a significant drawback for Threads. After being the fastest-growing platform in the history of apps, Threads has seen a steep decline in its number of daily active users. It has been reported that Threads has lost as much as 80% of its active users in a few days after its launch.

Meta CEO, Mark Zuckerberg had earlier said that Threads will be adding search and web in the coming few weeks. The team is reported to be adding more features to the web app in the coming weeks.

Despite the new features and capabilities, web users still won’t be able to do certain things yet like edit their profile or send a thread over to Instagram DMs (direct messages). Threads’ team has said that the web experience will still not be in complete parity with the Threads mobile app as of now.
