YouTube Music is introducing a new personalized music discovery feature called Samples that shows viewers samples of new music and will roll out globally.

Starting August 15, YouTube Music is introducing the Samples tab, a feed of short-form video segments to get viewers to their new favourite music. The feature is beginning to roll out to users globally.

This personalized feed will explore the catalogue provided by the YouTube Music library so that there’s always something new to listen to, whether it’s the latest release from an up-and-coming artist or a deep cut from a legacy artist. Each clip will offer a glimpse into the artist, the video, and the feel of the song.

The streaming service aims to make music discovery fun for users without having to leave the platform. Users can swipe vertically to experience a new song and add a song to their collection with each sample.

They can also share it with friends, create their next playlist, kick off a new radio station, watch the full video, visit the album page, or even use the song to create their own Short.

And for artists, the Samples tab provides another way to find a new audience and build a community on YouTube.
