The One Club for Creativity has appointed two senior creative leaders to its International Board of Directors. Ali Rez, Chief Creative Officer at Impact BBDO Group in Dubai, and Damon Stapleton, Co-Chief Creative Officer at Droga5 ANZ, part of Accenture Song, based in Auckland, will begin three-year terms on the board.

“I’m very honored to be joining this fabulous group of thinkers at a very critical point in the global creative industry, and to bring an important perspective from the Middle East region,” said Rez.

“I am honored and excited to be appointed to the International Board,” said Stapleton. “The One Show has been a huge part of my career; it’s always been the benchmark I’ve measured against for the quality of my work, and that of the industry. I cannot wait to get started and look forward to making a difference.”

Rez, who earlier this year became the first Jury President from the Middle East at The One Show in the Interactive Online & Mobile discipline, currently oversees creative work for the Impact BBDO Group across the Middle East, North Africa, and Pakistan.

Stapleton was previously the founder of The Monkeys Aotearoa and has held leadership roles at DDB ANZ and DDB New Zealand. His past roles also include executive creative positions at Saatchi & Saatchi Australia and TBWA\Hunt\Lascaris, the latter of which was named South African Agency of the Decade in 2010.

Throughout his career, Stapleton has worked with major global brands including BMW, Toyota, Nissan, Heineken, Visa, Cadbury, McDonald’s, and Adidas. His campaigns include “Trillion Dollar” for The Zimbabwean and “Penny the Pirate” for OPSM, both of which have received widespread recognition. “Penny the Pirate” was named the most effective campaign in the world by the WARC 100, and the “Trillion Dollar” campaign is part of the permanent collection at the British Museum.
