Naila Patel, former National Creative Director and Senior Vice President at VML, has shared a professional reflection on LinkedIn.
In her post, Patel discusses the difficulty of condensing years of experience into a concise document. She stated, “For over a decade, I had no need for a CV. Now, the prospect of encapsulating my learnings, wisdom, and rich experience onto a single piece of paper looms large.” She notes that the transition, especially without relying on automated tools, adds complexity and raises questions about how best to present a career's worth of work and insights.
Patel spent over 13 years at Mirum India, where she held various senior creative roles, including Creative Director, Executive Creative Director, and most recently, National Creative Director. Prior to that, she worked at Communicate2 (now iProspect) for over four years in roles including Creative Strategist and Creative Supervisor.
Her post has resonated with professionals facing similar transitions, inviting reflections on the process of reinvention and the practical hurdles of re-entering the job market after a long stint in a single organisation.
