The platform's advertising performance was a major contributor to Alphabet's overall financial results for the quarter. The company's total consolidated revenue rose 14% year-over-year to $96.4 billion. The company reported net income surge of 19% to $28.2 billion translating earnings per share of $2.31 for the period.

Google Services, which includes YouTube ad sales, reported revenue of $82.5 billion for Q2 2025, a 12% year-over-year increase. In addition to advertising revenue, Google's 'subscriptions, platforms, and devices' division, which encompasses YouTube Premium and YouTube TV, generated $11.2 billion, up from $9.3 billion in the prior-year quarter.

Google CEO Sundar Pichai highlighted the platform's role in Alphabet's AI-driven strategy during the earnings call, noting that "AI is positively impacting every part of the business, driving strong momentum." The company's AI Overviews and AI Mode features are "performing well," according to Pichai, contributing to what he called "a standout quarter with robust growth across the company."
