Eternal's Zomato shared its financial results for the first quarter of FY26. The company saw a sharp rise in revenue but a big drop in profit.
Revenue from operations grew 70.4% compared to last year, reaching ₹7,167 crore, up from ₹4,206 crore in Q1FY25. It also went up 22.9% from ₹5,833 crore in the previous quarter. Net profit fell 90.6% year-on-year to ₹25 crore, down from ₹266 crore. The company said this was because of ongoing spending on new businesses and infrastructure.
The company’s spending on ads and promotions increased by 69.4% to ₹671 crore from ₹396 crore a year ago. It was also 5.8% higher than the ₹634 crore spent in the previous quarter.
The India food ordering and delivery segment revenue rose to ₹2,261 crore, a 16.4% jump from last year. Hyperpure, a B2B segment, revenue increased to ₹2,295 crore, up 89.3%. Going Out platform that includes dining and ticketing) recorded revenue growth to ₹207 crore, a 117.9% rise from ₹95 crore.
Blinkit, it's quick delivery service, saw its revenue jump by 154.8% to ₹2,400 crore, up from ₹942 crore a year ago.
