The popular photo sharing app in its latest update states that when you see a sticker with a shopping bag icon tap on it to see more details about that product. Taking the shopping fever beyond your Instagram feeds, brands have been readily active on Instagram stories creating engaging content and making users want for more. Indian brands such as Amazon Prime, McDonald's India, Miss Malini and start-ups such as mavenchic.in and WeLike have been quick to grab onto paid Instagram Stories, paving great hopes for Instagram Stories shopping tag.
‘They visit Instagram looking for the latest trends and styles. With 300M using Instagram Stories everyday, people are increasingly finding new products from brands they love. In a recent survey, Instagrammers said they often watch stories to stay in the-know with brands they’re interested in, get an insider view of products they like, and find out about new products that are relevant to them,” said Instagram in a press release.
Brands like Adidas, Aritzia and Louis Vuitton are the first ones to debut with this feature on Instagram stories. The photo-sharing app has reportedly been experimenting with Instagram Stories shopping tag since 2016. The feature is now slated to be rolled out to a wider audience, making Instagram for businesses promising.
