Facebook will be hosting the developer conference on a virtual stage this year on 2nd June, in the new event format positioned as F8 Refresh.

For the unacquainted F8 is an annual developer conference hosted by Facebook, where one of the most significant products, updates, and developments by the platform is announced. The previous editions have been on-ground events, but the virtual format has been adopted this year.

F8 Refresh will be live-streamed through the Facebook For Developers Page, and developers, entrepreneurs, and professionals in the social media industry can also sign up to be notified when registration opens and to receive event updates.

The F8 conference customarily comprises a keynote speech, sessions, introduction of new features, and important announcements. Facebook mentions this year the virtual event would also incorporate the latest product tools that will help developers build across the Facebook family of apps, technical deep-dive sessions, demos, and panels.

Shop button for creator posts, redesigned UI, upgraded versions of apps, new tools for businesses, updated desktop sites, and more of such updates have been formerly announced that significantly changed the user and developer experience.

The number of businesses on Facebook has significantly grown during the pandemic, which was followed by updates to Facebook & Instagram Shops. This year the focus may be on improving the experience of small businesses on the platform by providing them more tools and features with more streamlined ways to shop on the platform.
