There’s something iffy about brands selling empowerment

Does women empowerment look great with a ribbon and a barcode? Brands seem to think so. There seems to be a product for every milestone that women achieve nowadays. This made me question – are we buying empowerment or just more products? In this piece, I discuss how we arrived at this point and when marketing 'empowerment' becomes iffy.
