About the Platform.
Loafun is a brand for customised hand-painted shoes. The cool and trendy hand-painted designs on canvas sneakers brings inspiration and innovation that make a statement. The mission is to lead through creativity with the shoes capturing the mood, sentiment, sensibilities, and trends which defines individual customers.
The shoes will be primarily sold online and Loafun provides a social e-commerce portal where one can source the designs from a community of designers and we shall get it painted by artists and deliver the product for you post purchase.
The idea was founded by Sudarshan Rajan, an ex Silicon valley/Wall Street professional who has an undying passion for shoes. It is currently supported by a team for social media marketing and a development team and has a tie up with about a dozen artists.
Whom do we cater to?
The offering is best suited for those who are the product of the internet generation – enterprising and independent, not afraid to have and voice an opinion and willing to go off the more treaded path to chart their own and experiment with things. The target audience will be the sophisticated and tech savvy urban youth who would be willing to pay for a customized high end quality branded product.
What do we offer to our consumers?
If you ever enter a shoe store you invariably either don’t get the size you are looking for in a particular shoe design/type or the design you want. Loafun solves this issue by allowing a customer to create his/her own design on shoes and providing him/her with an access to designs created by our talented community of artists.
What motivated us to start up?
Being a shoe snob myself I have a been a huge fan of customized designed sneakers. Given this highly fragmented segment where a lot of artists try to do their thing and sell it online/on Facebook we decided to create a platform for people to express their creativity and be able to sell their idea/concept to others through our shoes. Our tagline is “Shoe is You”, if one can express their creativity and personality on a T-shirt and wear it, then why not on their shoes?
What’s in a name?
We were thinking of something fun and given we started off with loafers(sneakers), we decided to call it “loaf”un.
How do we see Social Media?
We strive to create a community of designers and artists who are able to post their ideas and creations on our site. We totally believe in crowd sourcing from the design practically possible BUT do it just on our own shoes!!
