The First Ever Indian Food Bloggers Meet 2014

The Indian Food Bloggers' Meet 2014 is a first-of-its-kind national food bloggers conference in India. The first edition is scheduled to take place in Bangalore on 1st and 2nd August 2014.

The brainchild of Aparna Balasumbramanian (My Diverse Kitchen) and Arundati Rao (Culinary Escapades), the event was galvanized and brought to life by the two along with food bloggers Revati Upadhya (Hungry & Excited) and Nandita Iyer (Saffron Trail) as an event that will attract over 50 food bloggers from across the country, interacting over sessions of topical interest such as food photography, food styling, food writing, cookbook publishing, SEO and social media marketing, as well as interactive sessions like culinary demos, wine appreciation and much more.

The Indian food blogging community has grown in volume by leaps and bounds in recent times, and while bloggers interact over the internet and social media platforms, or even in smaller city-based groups, there has never been an event such as this that unites them all with an agenda to share knowledge, interact, exchange stories and ideas and get to know each other over the very things they live and love – food and blogging about it.

The 2-day event covers sessions detailed in a line up on the official blog and facebook page. Registrations opened over a month ago and have received a steady stream of enthusiastic responses from veteran and newbie bloggers from across the country. The team of organisers and most of the speakers at the event are also bloggers in their own right, and at present the event promises to have an attendance of 60 participants.

Venue partner for the 2-day jamboree is the newly opened Aloft Hotel at Cessna Business Park in Marathahalli, Bangalore. Online partner burrp! has garnered a fair bit of response via a microsite that has detailed all the events as they were unfurled by organisers. Several other brands such as KitchenAid (conducting a masterclass), Harper Collins (launching their latest food book at the event), MyPref (a food-based city guide app), Cremica, Tupperware, The Baking Company, SoulFull Breakfast Mixes, PaperBoat juices, Urban Dazzle, Bite Me Cupcakes and several other food and kitchen-related brands have come together in many ways to support the event.

Apart from being an event for knowledge sharing and sessions across topics of interest, there are also a couple of contests being held, a lucky draw with exciting prizes, and several other activities that are slowly being revealed in the run up to the event.
