Who are we?

Digitally Inspired is a creative digital agency with offices in Chennai and Mumbai.

The agency originated around one core belief – to give businesses inspiring new ways to connect with their customers! We work with leading brands who are tired of the traditional approach of mass market strategies and are looking for entirely new ways of reaching their audience and engaging with them.

Founded in May 2012 by Manish Kishore and Surej Salim, we began as a social media agency with a 3 member team that has now evolved into a 17 member creative digital house.

Why we do it?

With so much noise in a customer’s life, it is becoming increasingly difficult for a business to stand out, be heard and actually make an impact.

We entered the industry as we saw a desperate need for fresh ideas and a creative approach to marketing in this newly evolved digitally connected landscape.

We believe that businesses can have great success on digital if they take the time to understand their audience and develop an approach that caters to their needs, adds value to their lives and ultimately inspires them!

How we evolve?

Despite seeing the industry grow leaps and bounds by extending across different media and leveraging emerging technologies, the one thing that does not change is people and their behavior.

No matter what the technology or medium, we start by looking at people first, and understanding their behavior, specifically their needs.

However, we are all digital natives with a keen eye on emerging technologies and their evolution, we pride ourselves on being early adopters which helps us stay up to date in the industry. We reserve Saturdays for team knowledge transfer sessions and other fun activities!

Social responsibility in social media

Customers today expect complete and total transparency from a business. Depending on the industry, a small mistake or miscommunication can spiral out of control owing to the viral nature of digital. Right from the start, we educate and empower our clients on the various aspects of social responsibility and use social listening to keep close tabs on all conversations around the brand. We advise brands to be proactive in addressing customer issues, rather than dealing with damage control reactively.

Need of the hour

From the outset, businesses need to understand their customer’s pain points and use digital as a channel for solving their problems and adding value to their lives, rather than looking at it as just another marketing channel.

The need of the hour is for businesses to stop thinking of digital in traditional terms and to embrace it holistically by connecting the various silos and departments within, opening up data and empowering employees to use social media across the board.

We learned the hard way

We learned the hard way that while there is always space for creative impulsive and crazy ideas, it is always better to have a long term strategy when it comes to brands, and to align every creative idea with an overarching marketing strategy which is mapped onto key business objectives.

We’ve also learnt that when it comes to social media, marketing communication is important, but reaching the right audience is imperative and can make all the difference in the world.

Did we just share that?

We were producing a video for a client’s YouTube channel, specifically a public service announcement on the harassment of women. One of our social media managers took on the role of the creepy villain who would chase unsuspecting women down the street with catcalls. During the shoot, people from a house nearby began making a scene and threw acid on the road near us!

Industry as we foresee

The industry as we know it is growing at an unprecedented rate, with exponential growth in terms of the number of people coming online, technology getting cheaper and people accepting and using social media as a part of their daily lives.

This growth is going to get faster with ubiquitous internet connections, wearable devices and people being more connected than ever before.

A day without Internet

Despite the rapid evolution of technology, we still have days without internet access. We spend the day yelling at our ISP, sharing a 3G hotspot and floor space at our founder’s residence!
