In 2010, Twitter introduced the concept of hashflags and has bought it back this cricket season. Hashflag is a hashtag with the three letter abbreviation of a country along with its flag.
The hashflags have been around for the greater part of the last five years.
The ICC tweeted these hashflags for the #cwc15, garnering a lot of buzz around the ongoing cricket world cup. As we all know, social media has changed in a big way since the last world cup, in which India was victorious.
So, go on, show your support for your team.
Tell us which #cwc15 team you're backing NOW using Hashflags! #AFG, #AUS, #BAN, #ENG, #IND, #IRE, #NZ, #PAK, #ZIM, #SA, #SCO, #SL, #UAE, #WI
