Happy Creative Services was acquired for an undisclosed amount, and shall be merged with McGarryBowen, one of Dentsu’s nine subsidiary global divisions, and will be known as Happy McGarryBowen from now onwards.

The Bengaluru-based agency is known for their work with popular brands such as Flipkart, Ola, Myntra, Lee and GoDaddy.

Co-Founders Kartik Iyer, CEO and Praveen Das, CCO of Happy Creative Services will work with and report to Ashish Bhasin, CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network, South Asia.

“Happy has carved out a very strong digital and creative reputation in the Indian market,” said Ashish Bhasin, CEO, Dentsu Aegis Network South Asia. “This acquisition will add creative bench strength to the wider team. This will enable us to launch mcgarrybowen in India.”

Established in 2007, Happy is regarded as one of the most promising independent creative agencies in India. It boasts a staff of 100 across three disciplines—brand design, integrated brand communication and digital. From launching Diesel in India to conceptualising ‘Post Card’ commercial for ‘Incredible India’, Happy has consistently built its creative reputation. Some of its big wins across Indian and international festivals include the children’s campaign for Flipkart and other new-age brands like Ola, Myntra and FreshMenu.

Headquartered in London, Dentsu Aegis Network is owned fully by Japanese firm, Dentsu and offer a wide range of services ranging from media planning and buying, marketing analytics and content creation among others.

Happy Creative Services was founded in 2007, has a strength of 100 employees and will strengthen Dentsu’s creative capabilities in the Indian market.
