About the Platform.
Dazzlr is a neutral platform that connects creative talent (actors) to recruiters. It connects the talent devoid of formats of entertainment and release. It includes casting talent for feature films, television, web series’, ad films, print hoot, theatre performances and even regional film and tv.
The team consists of industry insiders, Vivek Bohra and Aadore Mukherjee who have teamed up with India’s leading online classified Quikr in creating the online platform. Aadore Mukherjee is a renowned casting director who has 15 years of casting experience to her credit.(including films like Bhaag Mikha Bhaag, Happy new year and more.
Vivek Bohra has made several ad films including clients like Sehwag international school, Rajathan government and Manav Foundation.
Whom do we cater to?
On the one end, we cater to all the people who aspire to be a part of the entertainment industry. Though currently, only dealing with actors, other vertical of the entertainment industry will also soon be finding and recruiting creative talent form this platform.
On the other end, we cater to all those production houses and casting directors who are looking for fresh talent. Films units traveling for shooting are the most benefited as they can find local talent on the click of the finger.
What do we offer to our consumers?
We provide our aspiring actors with the information and ability to apply for roles that match their profile on their fingertips. Push notifications are sent when an actor fits into a role put up by a casting director and one can even upload their video test etc.
On the other end we give casting directors/producers/directors the ability to filter profiles of actors that they need by multiple choices and parameters. The app matches a casting requirement put up and offers/recommends people based n the need of the casting director. The recruiter can directly message the talent in-app and can negotiate and cast almost entirely online itself.
What motivated us to start up?
A year and a half ago, our co-founder, Vivek Bohra was doing auditions for a Hollywood film, produced by Puaul Wietz (Director of About a boy, American Pie 1) when speaking to the crew in USA on video conference, he realized that there is space and appreciation for talent without any barriers of geography and ethnicity. Thus, started the thought of marrying the recruiters and talent in an industry that is yet closely guarded and unorganized.
What’s in a name?
Every individual has his/her own unique charm and numerous films in this day and age have proved that there is appreciation for all types of faces and talent. Dazzlr pays tribute to our belief that we each and every one of us has the ability to shine. We’ll provide the platform and the users will dazzle.
How do we see Social Media?
Social media is a great tool to connect with the audiences. With the huge amount of people across the world cued in on social media, our brief is that it is extremely important to also use social media as a two way communication rather than a one way tool. We spread what we offer and hear what we need to do to improve ourselves.
Currently we are….
Currently we have approximately 10000 downloads in the last couple of months since we’ve been live. We have had more than 225 casting calls put out and success stories of people being cast in films as branded as Rock on 2 and Singham 3 (Tamil). We are yet active in India only and will scale up in version 1.1 when we are live across the globe.
Our biggest challenge was..
To have an app that uses technology perfectly and yet without making things extremely complex and non-user friendly. As we finished that, it was then about getting casting directors to believe that an app like Dazzlr is here to empower them with more fresh talent and not to cut into them.
We want to dominate the world by..
Having our platform as the go-to place for talent recruiters across the globe… irrespective of where they want talent from and what format they are making content in. We intend to make Dazzlr that online platform where every aspirant shines as brightly as the dream in his eyes.
We hope to have about 500,000 users by the end of the next year with casting done for aspirants in more than 33 countries and across more than 1000 films.
We’re making moolah by…
We are on a freemium model. We have a strictly professional approach and actors can only apply for roles if they are premium users. However, at this point we are also servicing casting calls and helping users get more roles.
