Social Samosa takes a look at some of the memorable Fevikwik campaigns which stood out over the last few years.

Fevikwik, the instant adhesive brand from the house of Pidilite Industries is known for their quirky, humorous and smart advertising. The brand recently released a series of new films, with a woman protagonist for the first time. Fevikwik has mostly targeted men in their campaigns, but the new campaign titled‘Khushiyon ke chand pal, shows a woman in the limelight.

Conceptualized by Ogilvy, the ads depicts the woman being unexpectedly appreciated by her loved ones for repairing different things in the house. The new campaign, conceptualized by Ogilvy & Mather, talks about how Fevikwik can not only fix broken objects but also cement the bonds between husband-wife, mother– son, mother-in-law and daughter-in-law and so on.



Advertising has played a huge role in establishing Fevikwik as a brand with high recall among consumers. The old commercial of fishing, where an urban man is reduced to mockery by a villager, who knows the easiest way of catching a fish is still fresh in our minds.

Fevikwik won millions of hearts with their 'Todo Nahin, Jodo' spot released during the ICICI World Cup 2015 India and Pakistan match. The ad which was strategically launched during the captivating match, captured a scene between two soldiers from each countries at the Wagah Border. Incorporating humour, the ad wanted to highlight peace and harmony between the two nations who are always at loggerheads. There were some controversies around the ad as well, when a political wing demanded an immediate withdrawal of the campaign because of the improper depiction of the soldiers on the border.

The Fevikwik commercial of a man fishing by applying the adhesive on a stick and using it as a rod has been a favourite ad from the yesteryears.
