Amazon's Prime Day installations bank on colorful and virtual storytelling

Amazon India introduces Prime Day mascots to bring the sale to the customers in an engaging manner using the strategic VR installations in malls.

It’s that time of the year again. Prime Day is on July 15 & 16 and Amazon India has weaved in a colorful story in malls across India – bringing the enthusiasm of the sale to life through innovative installations combined with strategic use of VR.

As customers in Delhi NCR, Bengaluru,

Chennai, Pune, Hyderabad, and Kolkata walked in their favorite mall they were

greeted with the adorable Prime Day mascot playing dhol or cutely posing, welcoming the unsuspecting visitors to

experience a one of a kind VR innovation.

Standing out amidst the clutter of sales, Amazon India created 3D offline installations, where consumers had an opportunity to try the gigantic spread Prime Day will be offering through a VR representation. Offering a 360-degree hologram of that dress you have been eyeing or open the door and see the inside of the double door fridge you have been saving up for – the VR transports consumers adding a try before buying touch to the e-commerce segment in India.

Instead of taking the tried and tested routes of one-dimensional communication, Amazon India decided to bring the sale to the consumers, in a rather fun and engaging manner. The VR gave potential consumers an opportunity to go through 1000+ products from top brands such as Samsung, LG, Whirlpool, JBL, Sennheiser, Intel, Marks & Spencer, UCB, Kate Spade, Mothercare, Nestle, and more.

They could also play fun games, walk

around the installation, and click cute pictures – all while engaging with the

brand, resulting in a top of the mind brand recall. Consumers could also earn

vouchers that are redeemable on Prime Day.
