What motivated us to start up?

Influencer Marketing is not a new phenomenon in our country, though it has paced up only in recent years in its modern form. However, we see that the industry is highly unorganized. Brands want to run influencer marketing campaigns but they usually face lots of cumbersome processes, uncertainties, and logistical issues.  We envisioned to develop a technology-driven platform which will allow brands to connect directly with celebrities, influencers, and journalists to create quality content for the consumers without any hassle.

What’s in a name?

When TopSocial was launched in China, the aim was to provide top-level services for brands in social communication and continuously acquire valuable users for brands by integrating social influencers.

How do we see Social Media?

Social Media is a place where the modern-day consumer is spending his/her maximum time, thus, giving brands the opportunity to leverage this space by connecting with its advocates and potential consumers.

Social Media has been the driving force for C2C Marketing where every day thousands of consumers are talking to each other and are shaping their opinions about almost everything around them.

In order to survive and grow in this digital world, it is crucial for brands to utilize this space effectively and efficiently.

TopSocial China currently hosts over 50,000 Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs), active on the popular social media sites and these are further specialized into 35 fields including technology, fashion, cosmetics, cuisine, travel, etc. and successfully delivering 3000 projects per year.

TopSocial India has roped in over 1000 influencers so far including celebrities like Chef Ranveer Brar, Barkha Sen Gupta, Shenaz Treasurywala, Shruti Seth, Bandgi Kalra and has an association with Mumbai based ‘Express Talent’ agency. The association brings on board a diverse set of celebrities of the likes of Gul Panag, Kumud Mishra, Surekha Sikri, Pooja Makhija, Parvin Dabas, Ayesha Raza Mishra and Satyajit Sharma.

Our biggest challenge was...

Getting regional influencers on board was the biggest challenge as we wanted to reach in every nook and corner of our country. It is a huge task to be able to reach to the rural parts of India and we are glad that we are on the right track to achieve our goal.

India has immense potential when it comes to influencer marketing. However, the market is unorganized at the moment. We want to smoothen up the whole content marketing delivery process to an extent that brands can get any communication delivered at any place in India at any time with the right technology-driven marketing tool.

At TopSocial, we identified content creators who have been creating quality content. During the process, we came across a few content creators and were amazed to find out they had no clue that they were influencers and were actually influencing masses!

Industry as we foresee

In recent years, advertising has been going through a structural shift. With the rise of digital as well as the rise of information symmetry, consumers are not receptive to advertising in their face. In order to engage with consumers, it is imperative for brands to create quality content. It is no longer just about market share but the share of time too and as we move ahead, we see more and more brands collaborating with these content creators to acquire the share of customers’ time.
