Honest work helps you get regular business: Manisha Garg

Having published her first e-book in May 2019, Manisha Garg of Zara Hatke Blog hopes to be among the Top 50 Bloggers.

While working on branded content for Zara Hatke Blog, Manisha Garg is selective of the briefs she picks up. She ensures that they resonate with her personal experience and are relevant to her readers. Promoting topics, products or services that she isn't confident about never make it to her blog.

Looking back, where did it all begin?

Sharing experiences and knowledge came very naturally to me. Reading on various topics and developing myself was another aspect, this was the reason which led to starting my own blog – to get a wider platform to share.

What's in the name?

The name of my blog is “zarahatkeblog.” I wanted my blog name to stand out and act as my identity. It came to me as an intuition at the right time.

What is your USP in this cluttered space? How does your content give you an edge?

Every blog has its own pride and mine too, it’s my first child. My USP would be my honest intention to share my knowledge.

Please take us through your content creation process. How do you stay relevant and relatable?

Reading is a key part of the evolution process and it helps me to stay relevant in today’s times. Writing on a regular basis is important too. Networking with other bloggers and blogging communities helps you to stay connected and updated.

How do you make moolah with your efforts?

Staying honest with my work helps me get some regular business from my clients. I have just scratched the surface and have a long way ahead.

How do you maintain editorial objectivity with the influx of brand briefs?

Firstly, I pick up briefs which are relevant to my readers and for which I have some personal experience. I don’t promote stuff that I am not confident about.

One instance/experience that made it all worthwhile.

Weirdest brand brief/request ever.

Too many to share.

If not blogging, you would be?

I love research activities and have 10 years’ experience in marketing research so I pursue something in that field for sure.

A day in your life.

Raising a little one, who’s about to complete a year, my life is currently revolving around her while I multitask and engage in blogging/influencing activities. Festivities make me enthusiastic hence I am upbeat with the festive season on.

Message/tips for upcoming bloggers.

Just be honest with yourself.
