Tostitos teams up with Kate McKinnon & Dan Levy to promote new chips variant

The new Tostitos campaign aims to highlight how chips and dips are essential elements that add value to the time friends spend together in groups.

To celebrate the love Americans have for chips and dips and everything that people love to do with their friends, Tostitos has launched a new campaign — For the Love of Chips and Dip. The brand has teamed up with the comedic duo of Kate McKinnon and Dan Levy to bring this campaign to life. Whether it’s doing karaoke and getting the lyrics wrong or analysing the plot holes in bad movies, when friends gather, fun moments are bound to happen. The duo will put a spotlight on moments within a moment that makes them memorable.

As a part of the campaign, Tostitos celebrates the quirky ways friends connect with one another, with the launch of their spiciest offering yet — Tostitos Habanero. In the new brand commercial, McKinnon and Levy share their takes on the level of spice in the new chips variant — one-upping each other as any set of friends would do with more and more hilarious descriptions of the chips, in ways only these two comedic stars could.

Starting April 6, fans would be able to join in the fun through an interactive Snapchat lens, creating an opportunity for them to ‘one-up’ their friends, just like McKinnon and Levy.

A second commercial starring the duo will be released on April 3 — on television and online. It will showcase the all-too-relatable experience of debating with a friend — through facial expressions and body language that only friends can recognise — over who needs to tell the new guy that he has a salsa stain on his shirt. The theme is meant to celebrate the unspoken bond between true friends.
