Cannes Lions 2022: India books 20 shortlists across six categories

Cannes Lions 2022 announced their second set of shortlists across six new categories; India bagged 20 spots, dentsu occupying most of them.

The Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity 2022 unveiled its second set of shortlists across six categories, including Brand Experience & Activations, Creative Strategy, Creative Effectiveness, Creative Business Transformation, and Creative Commerce & Mobile.

India bagged 20 places out of the 393 total shortlists. Brand Experience & Activation saw 10 spots; out of which 3 were bagged by dentsu Creative for Vice Media’s “The Unfiltered History Tour”. FCB India – “The Political Shakti + The Times of India” occupied 3 places. While Ogilvy’s “Shah Rukh Khan – My Ad” held 2 places and VMLY&R “Uniliver -Smart Fill” and “Unipads – Reusable Sanitary pads” held the remaining two.

Creative Effectiveness witnessed a single spot bagged by DDB Mudra for Stayfree Sanitary Pad’s “Stayfree Project Free period”. Creative Business Transformation saw a single shortlist from India as well. VMLY&R bagged the place for UNILEVER’s “Smart Fill”.

Creative Commerce Lions has 4 shortlists from India out of the total 42 places. VMLY&R – UNILEVER’s “Smart Fill” filled 3 out of the 4 spots and the other was held by McCain India – Ujjivan Small Finance Bank’s “Shagun ka Lifafa”.

Lastly, Mobile Lions shortlist has 4 shortlists from India. dentsu Creative for Vice Media’s “The Unfiltered History Tour” held 3 of them and Ogilvy India’s – Cadbury Chocolate’s “Nothingcoin” held the rest.
