The bill to reserve one-third of the Lok Sabha seats for women may still be at impasse, but women politicians are at the forefront of politics. Using social media to promote themselves and gauge their popularity, women politicians aren’t far behind the male politicians of the stature. Sonia Gandhi, Sushma Swaraj and Smriti Irani are among key female politicians.

Each garners different responses, sentiments, mentions and engagements.  Sonia Gandhi surprisingly has neither a Facebook presence, nor one on Twitter and has only web mentions. Sushma Swaraj and Smriti Irani are present on both Facebook and Twitter, wherein Smriti Irani is more active on Twitter.
