“If Periscope can, why can’t I?” – Facebook
After Periscope and Meerkat, Facebook couldn’t wait to announce its live streaming video feature for their verified users.
VIP profiles on Facebook have already been using the mentioned app. However, in recent news, Facebook is planning to expand the availability of the app beyond the selected few. Facebook Live was launched on August 5th the first one to benefit from it was Dwayne Johnson.
Other users that were granted the access included Serena Williams, Martha Stewart and also Michael Bublé.
With the ever increasing number of Facebook users, this move may prove to be beneficial for the social media giant and also maintain its position in the industry. Nevertheless, for this new feature Facebook has a lot of competitors like Periscope, Meerkat, YouTube and also Snapchat.
