If there was one good thing about the internationally loathed and disparaged Snapchat redesign was that the company didn’t take long to add GIF Stickers on Snapchat, taking a leaf out of Instagram’s playbook. Here’s how you can use them.
There aren’t many positive takeaways from the new Snapchat redesign which I kid you not, is so hated that Change.org has a petition that wants the company to repeal it! While that change may or may never come, and users might need to learn to live with it, look on the bright side! The GIF stickers on Snapchat make things even more interesting.
Before we get started on learning how to add GIF Stickers to your Snaps, let us discuss a major new update on the ephemeral platform, intended to boost creativity and conversation between friends. The 3D Friendmoji Deluxe World Lens is quite a mouthful but is also equally interesting.
You must be familiar with the AR-based Bitmoji World Lens that contained your avatar doing things like drinking coffee, and other ordinary but intriguing activities. Well, now you can add a friend of yours to it and allow your Bitmoji avatars to have fun in AR.
After releasing World Lens, the company added Bitmojis into the mix, later enhancing the Bitmoji bit by Bitmoji Deluxe, allowing users to make new and better customizations to their avatars.
When it comes to the 3D Friendmoji Deluxe World Lens (phew!), some Snapchat users are not being able to use the new update, as you can see below, a lot of people have been experiencing the snag.
Let’s move on to learning how to add GIF Stickers on Snapchat.
Fairly easy, adding GIFs on Snapchat requires internet connectivity, much like the Bitmojis on the app.
So here’s how to add GIFs on Snapchat and add a brand new creative twist to all your snaps, (which by the way can now be shared outside the Snapchat ecosystem!)
Go to Snapchat and take a Snap as you would regularly.
Now tap on the Stickers section on the upper right-hand side section of the screen.
On the top of the screen, you will see a Search bar, tapping on which will reveal a few suggested trending GIF Stickers. You can type in a keyword like you do regularly when searching for stickers and Bitmoji to look for GIF stickers. Bitmoji and other stickers will show up in the results in separate rows with them.
Select your preferred GIF sticker and voila! You’ve used your first GIF sticker on Snapchat but the new redesign is still here.
