Very rarely does your heart really ache on the demise of a personality you probably didn’t know in person – today is one such day. For the unacquainted, search “Father of Indian Advertising” on Google and Padamsee’s name flashes on the screen with quick un-ambiguity. In his advertising career, he went on to build over a 100 brands, giving us many iconic campaigns that we remember fondly even today. Remember Surf’s Lalita Ji or the Liril Girl under the waterfall?

In the words of Wikipedia, he is the only Indian to be voted into the International Clio Hall of Fame, the Oscars of World Advertising. Alyque Sir also played a crucial role in the world of theatre and movies.
