Mother’s Day 2019 campaigns give birth to some heartfelt messages representing a mother’s love that’s higher than the sky and deeper than the ocean.
This year we observed a few campaigns that came out with a strong story and got the product placement just right. Tapping into the various roles mothers play and the various women in our lives that play the role of a mother.
For instance, Ogilvy Bangalore narrates a tale that celebrates the moms we come across, for Sunfeast Mom’s Magic. Commenting on the campaign, Nilay Moonje, Group Creative Director, Ogilvy Bangalore says the story would connect with all those who have stayed away from home during their college years. He adds, “This film is a celebration of the mom-like figures in our lives. It is in continuation of the wider Mom’s Magic brand platform.”
While most of the brands recreated mother’s love, Gits chose to share a poignant parable about the ones who don’t have the liberty to experience a mother’s love. Commenting on the advert, Sahil Gilani, Director – Sales & Marketing, GITS Food said, the brand hopes to encourage people to spread the love to the orphans in whatever small way they can. He says, “Being a family-run business, we understand the significance of ‘maa ke hatho ka khana’. Unfortunately, there are kids who do not get to cherish this joy.”
Epson showcased the most natural yet significant product placement with #ShesAlwaysWithYou. Tushad Talati, Director – Brand & Communication, Epson India mentioned that they wanted to shine some light on the sacrifices – small and big – that mothers make for their kids. He adds, “Epson has over 3 Million users for its EcoTank printers in India, and a big part of this user base are parents of school-going children, especially mothers. We felt the time was right for this campaign and to be present in our consumers’ lives with a warm story that everyone will relate to and share with their mother.”
StyledByMom by ColorPlus’ features Sharman Joshi, Meet Bros and Karan Patel and taps the instance that moms are always your first stylist. Speaking about the campaign, Suman Saha, COO, Group Apparel & MTM, Raymond Ltd., said “A mother- son conversation on fashion is an oxymoron. This Mother’s Day, we wanted to revive the nostalgic memories and help a man give an ode to his first stylist in a manner that well suits his emotional expression and his current lifestyle.”
Various adverts surfacing across digital and traditional platforms themed around Mother’s Day reminds us of all the times our mother reassured us, even when we had lost faith in ourselves, reminding us that a mother has enough strength to carry a home on her shoulders, even when she’s sick and her knees are weak, reminding us that her heart is bigger than the explored universe and her love is as selfless as the nature, probably why nature is personified as Mother Nature.
You can’t repay the debt of your mother’s milk but you can remind her that she is more precious than a mountain of gold and a field of silk, just how these adverts do.
