How would you define a Superwoman in today’s day and age?

Fearless go-getters. Women are unstoppable if they simply believe they can do anything. Women need to accept their potential and work towards achieving their goals unapologetically.

One quality that you think every superwoman has and that helped you win Social Samosa Superwomen…

Being a risk taker. Take the leap if you believe in something; be it your career or a personal initiative. Don’t let fear and doubt get in your way. Only when you throw yourself in the deep end do you learn how to swim.

What are the key changes this industry needs in order to make workplaces gender neutral, safe, and nurturing?

More opportunities with gender equal benchmarks. It may be a cliché, but men still dominate most of the leadership roles across companies in different industries. Women aren’t well represented in the upper echelon yet due to the company’s lack of confidence in their ability to lead. They are often put to the test and expected to prove themselves well before an opportunity is even presented to them. At the same time, women’s reluctance to self-promote can be a serious roadblock to their ambition of going up the ranks in their careers. They need to proactively push for promotions and demand what they deserve.

One Superpower you wish you had?

The power to influence.

The ‘Superwomen’ you diligently follow and who inspired you…

I’m inspired by women from different walks of life who are breaking barriers in their own little ways. I’m inspired by people like Ellen Pompeo who set a precedent by demanding the salary she deserved. I’m also inspired by Laxmi Agarwal who even after facing a gruesome acid attack went on to lead petitions against its usage.

One tip to women out there attempting to scale heights…

Never compromise. Women are constantly taught to make compromises to achieve everything they want; be in their professional or personal life. But success only comes to those who don't settle for anything but the best.
