Who are we? 

brand-comm is a communications consultancy headquartered in Bangalore with operations in six cities (Bangalore, Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, and Hyderabad) and a presence through affiliates in all Indian states. Our range of integrated services includes comprehensive consultancy across Public Relations, Digital Marketing, and Brand Advisory. 

What’s in the name?

What we do is an integral part of our name, ‘brand-comm’unication. We are communication consultants who understand a brand’s vision and help narrate their story effectively, to make a lasting impact on their target audience.

What do we do? 

Our services include Public Relations, Digital Marketing, Employee Engagement, Public Affairs, and Advocacy, Investor Relations and Online Reputation Management. 

Why we do it?

We understood the needs of brands at a time when there were very few integrated communication agencies in the country. Advertising was not the answer for all brand communication, and brands were looking at alternative means. Our first client, Indus League, now Future Lifestyle Fashions, had asked us for PR services, and that marked our entry into Public Relations. Now we have over 60 clients across markets and sectors.

With a greater number of corporates entering the market, post-liberalization, the need for below-the-line marketing and earned media have gained momentum.

How we evolved? 

Our growth is in tandem with the growth of our clients. We’ve always kept a pulse on the market and our clients and consulted them in their hour of need. When the market’s needs changed we were quick to adapt and offer services that were tailored to each client rather than being inflexible in our offerings.

Social responsibility in social media

Social media is an open platform. Hence, it is imperative that brands and individuals on social media share content that adds value to their followers. We prescribe the best social media practices to help clients create quality content that helps them effectively communicate their brand values. While social media has helped brands engage their customers, it has also given consumers a platform to hold companies accountable. This requires brands to make intelligent responses to queries, comments, and messages while ensuring they actually make amends in their services.

As platforms are becoming more transparent, consumers can see the difference between ads and organic content, and brands need to ensure they do not mislead their followers, even unintentionally.

Need of the hour

Social Media is slowly making the shift to results-oriented campaigns and lead generation is a service that clients want from their social media managers. Hence, social media is no longer just a good-to-have property but is becoming an important part of the business strategy.

We learned the hard way 

Best practices and clients’ ways of functioning will not always match, and the agency then has to play with the client, instead of looking at it as a hurdle.

A day without Internet 

Would be strange and work would be slow. But, it’d be nice to just go out for a walk once in a while.

Once we’re over the whole brouhaha on a digital detox, we would probably be watching some downloaded Netflix.
