Facebook Gaming introduces monetization opportunities for creators

With the new monetization features, gaming creators on Facebook can raise revenue with the support of their fans watching their streams.

The monetization features have been introduced following the rise of gaming creators and egagement on streams on the Facebook platform, and are designed to assisst creators in building a businesss through streaming.

Stars Holiday Celebration

This feature would be available only during the hoiday season, starting December 15th and ending on January, 1 2021. During the period viewers can purchase Stars at a reduced price, receive a badge for sending Stars, and send a limited time ‘Hand Raise’ virtual gift.

Monetization Features In Chat

To integrate monetizable tools interactive, the Chat experience between fans and gaming creators will have new features. The monetization features in Chat are currently being tested and will be rolled out broadly to all users soon.

Star Comments

Comments attached to Stars will now be highlighted, comments with Larger Stars will be more highlighted; more highlighted comments will have a bright pink and purple gradient. These highlights have been designed to make the comment pop and make it hard to miss for the fans and creators.

Large Stars

Comments with Large Stars automatically get pinned to the stars ticker, to the bottom of the chat window for a period of time, larger Stars get pinned for longer.

Virtual Gifts

Virtual gifts have been updated with new graphics and GIFs. The gifts enable fans to give Stars in a visual way.
