About the Platform
Started by three dudes from Gujarat – Jayneil, Kishan and Sohil, Printajoy is trying to make Instagram printing beautiful and affordable in India. All three graduated with an engineering degree from Nirma University, going on to work at the same startup, which is how they met.
Kishan is a website artisan and loves to travel; Sohil is a hardcore hacker who loves garba, while Jayneil is a technical writer and an extreme Arsenal and trance fan.
Whom do we cater to?
Practically anybody who is an Instagram user in India and wants to see their precious digital moments converted to beautiful physical prints.
What do we offer to our consumers?
The power of photography is just immense. A single photo has the power to capture life’s precious moments. Now, that is great but there is a tiny problem. People tend to take all these great photos using Instagram and then forget about it.
The photos are just locked on your smartphone. We want to change that and give people the ability to rekindle those awesome moments by taking their digital memories and converting them into crispy 4×4 prints or stickers.
What motivated us to start up?
Having been raised in Gujju families, we were all encouraged to start our own businesses. To us it was more a question of having a unique idea that could solve a particular problem which made us pursue the startup path. The startup journey so far has been very rewarding and we have learned so much via practical experience than we would have from books or blogs.
What’s in a name?
Kishan actually came up with this brilliant name. Since we are printing precious moments for our customers which will bring happiness/joy to their life, the word “Printajoy” seemed like a perfect fit.
How do we see Social Media?
Our core business is based on the Instagram users in India and we are definitely seeing a growth in the number of users using the application. People just love to take beautiful photos and share them with everyone.
Currently we are….
We are at a very very early stage of our startup at this point. We recently had a successful crowd funding campaign. It’s only been a week since our public launch and the response so far from the general public has been great!
Our biggest challenge was..
Successfully completing a crowd funding campaign via which we managed to raise Rs. 1,05,000.
We want to dominate the world by..
We are working on a couple of new product offerings as well as our increasing customer base via social media interaction. Twitter has been very useful to us in that case.
We’re making moolah by…
Well, its pretty straightforward. The more Instagram prints we sell from our website, the more money we will make.
Our What The **** Moment
Well, Jayneil likes to blog a lot and share the startup experiences learned by us for help to others. So, while writing the blog, he was supposed to share the link to our landing page but instead he posted the link to the alpha version of our website which was full of bugs. As soon as the blog was read by a couple of our friends, we got phone calls from them telling us how our website was not working properly. We quickly changed the link and a huge disaster was averted! Ever since then, Jayneil has been banned from accessing any alpha versions of our products! :p
Industry as we foresee
We feel that social media is expanding exponentially in India. Grandmas and grandpas are joining the social media band wagon, people are using social media to share their good and bad experiences about products, restaurants etc. Making new connections using social media is also a lot easier now. The potential for new startups in this domain is endless and exciting at the same time.
